Cream Filberts are indeed back!
A helpful reader writes that she was able to order Creme Filberts from the Vermont Country Store today. They have a limited supply, at 15.95 per pound plus shipping, with more supply expected in January. See the comments in the previous post.
The catalog item is here.
They say they have a confectioner in "Upstate New York" making them. Depending on your point of view, "Upstate" can mean anything from "north of 125th Street" to "on the bank of the St. Laurence River" or even west to Rochester. I would be curious to know who's making them, for obvious reasons. Of course, it is quite possibly an exclusive deal.
Update: See here and here and here.

And, they're back for the season again! Links to sources over on Making Light.
I picked up three 7 oz. packages at Stever's on a visit out to Rochester last week. $4.75 each.
