Google Reader
What can Google not do?
I tried an RSS feeder some time back, and podcasts, and found both to be cumbersome and gave them up.
Now I have Google Reader bookmarked, with four feeds: BoingBoing, Dark Roasted Blend, MAKE Magazine, and Toolmonger: The Week In Tools.
It's pretty slick. I get plenty of non-political reading to distract me and give me ideas. From MAKE I got the idea to use an Altoids tin for an electronics project box, and now I have two home-made devices housed in them. One is a remote control for Winamp, the other a Ham Radio to computer interface. And BoingBoing often has neat distractions.
The only thing, of course, is that if I don't check it every day, the unread stuff piles up quick.
P.S. Dark Roasted Blend has a neat gallery of spider close-ups. Beautiful in their own way.
