No Windows 7 Beta For You!

Fail. The scrounged desktop was inadequate, even after borrowing 512M of memory from mom's computer. Windows 7 needs ACPI support.

I even had a name picked out. Because it was 550 Mhz with 512M of memory, I was going to call it "Cli55ord the Big Blue Dog".

There Is (Suddenly) No Spoon

It's funny how one becomes attached to objects. I use a spoon with my tea that I have had for 22 years. It's nothing special, standard government issue - literally, it has "Comm. of Mass." stamped on the handle. I actually remember picking it up in the back yard of the house we lived in for a year in Medford.

It's turned up missing today. It's probably in a pocket somewhere, but I miss it.

Update: Found it. In the pocket of the sport jacket I wore to work yesterday.

Daylight Savings Time Must Go!

It didn't really strike me what we lose when DST starts in the spring until this morning when I came down for breakfast and it was still dark outside. The sunrise today, March 9, was the same as January 24. We lost 44 days, not just an hour!
